Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Outage Project Manager to join our team.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for the planning and
execution of scheduled and unscheduled outages for HERC. You will
act as outage coordinator to manage various industrial contractors
and plant personnel required for outage execution. You will support
routine outage maintenance activities to maintain equipment and
asset reliability.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of scheduled and
unscheduled outages.
Act as outage planner to define scope, schedule, and budget of
individual contracts associated with each outage task.
Develop and maintain annual outage schedules, activities, and
budgets as required for an efficient and comprehensive execution of
tasks required to maximize facility availability.
Conduct pre-outage planning and coordination meetings to develop
specific outage activities and milestones through collaboration
with GHS and County staff.
Directly coordinate with outage support contractors, outside
vendors, and material suppliers prior to and during outages to
ensure necessary resources are scheduled and/or delivered to
execute outage activities within the outage schedule and
milestones.
Direct day-to-day outage activities to ensure work is being
completed on time, on budget, and within planned outage
schedules.
Act as project manager to manage various Operations & Maintenance
(O&M) and Capital Projects as assigned.
Work within the Asset Management team to maintain and improve
facility asset reliability and availability by implementing lessons
learned from outages or normal maintenance and operation
activities.
Network with industry professionals to share experiences and bring
value to the overall execution of HERC outages and asset
reliability projects.
Qualifications:
Associate's or technical degree from an accredited college in power
plant technology, construction management or related field and
three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a
similar position as listed in the work functions. Or we will also
consider a combination of education and experience equivalent to
five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a similar
position as listed in the work functions and demonstrated
experience managing industrial construction projects involving
multi-trade contractors.
Knowledge and ability be able to read and understand technical
drawings, instruction manuals, schematic or mechanical drawings,
parts breakdowns, etc.
Knowledge and in-depth understanding of power plant maintenance and
operations.
Knowledge of general contract language and material procurement
policies and procedures.
Skill to analyze, plan, organize and manage a job or project.
Ability to gain knowledge of planning & scheduling and project
management concepts as pertains to GHS.
Ability to gain the knowledge required to build and maintain
Preventative Maintenance (PMs) and Work Orders in the GHS CMMS
which includes job plans and safety plans.
Ability to provide work direction and align resources to complete
job/project within budget and schedule.
Proficient in PC-based software, including reporting tools, word
processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail, and presentations.
Complete a successful background check, drug/alcohol test and
references.
Working Conditions:
This position typically works Monday - Friday, however more hours
may be required during scheduled outages. This position is
designated as a safety-sensitive position for drug, cannabis and
alcohol testing purposes.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting pay: $98,470+ (dependent on experience and
qualifications)
